Peanuts

It is ridiculous for a charity to keep more than 30 years of reserve!!! WTF!!! What about the charities that don't even have enough to function right now? Most people only have so much they can afford to give. If the money goes to one charity just to seat there and earn interest, that means other needy charities will get less. Unfortunately, not everyone is lucky enough to have peanuts as "small" as Mrs Goh's. While pointing all fingers to NKF, one have to realize the government should also bear a big part of the responsibility. Is there no organization to oversee the runnings of charities? How come the biggest and one of the once most respectable charity organization be allowed to grow so outrageously out of proportion? I sincerely hope that this incident do not just end with Durai leaving NKF. The whole charity system should be re-examined and reformed. Not asking only for more transparency but for total transparency. Also, a limit should be set as to how much reserve a charity is allowed to keep. As for the injudicious comments made by Mrs. SM...sigh...it's such a disgrace.
